VALDOSTA, Ga., (WTXL) - The superintendent of Valdosta City Schools announces his retirement.
Mr. E. Martin Roesch, gave notice to the Valdosta board of education about his plans to retire on Monday. His last day of employment with the district will be Friday, May 29.
In a statement Roesch said, "After thoughtful consideration, I have decided to retire. I have genuinely enjoyed every level of my employment with Valdosta City Schools and have been honored to serve as superintendent," said Roesch. "I would like to thank Valdosta City Schools for the many opportunities I have had throughout my career. Although I am looking forward to this new stage in my life, I will miss the daily interactions I have with the faculty, staff and students of our district."
