TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- A new app wants to help get you around the Capital City.
Colby and Keegan Hickman, creators of Hoop Ride, joined us on WTXL Sunrise to tell us how it works.
The brothers, both FSU students, say it's a way to find people nearby who are going to the same place and then you can coordinate rides.
Hoop Ride can be for something like getting a quick lift to work or campus. The Hickmans say it can even be used for bigger commutes, like students driving to Jacksonville together before a holiday break.
It's also a way to save money if everyone who's part of the carpool splits the gas tab.
The students got the idea for the app last year, and went to work on making it a reality. It officially launched a few months ago.
This app also integrates with Facebook, so you can check out who responds before you get into a car with them.
Hoop Ride is a free download for iPhone and iPad. It's available on iTunes. The say it'll be available in the coming weeks for Android devices.
