TALLAHASSEE, FL -- "Don't wait, check the date!". That's the push behind this year's National Fire Prevention Week, which is from October 9-14.
The Tallahassee Fire Department, along with the Capital Area Red Cross and the State Fire Marshall's Office, will join forces with Home Depot to remind residents to have working smoke alarms. In addition, the push is to also check the date on those smoke alarms. "Don't wait, check the date!". Replace your smoke alarms every 10 years.
The group will be hosting a fire display with Sparky at the Tallahassee Home Depot on Saturday, October 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
