TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - This week on Sunrise, we've been giving viewers a preview of the grand opening of Cascades Park.
With the opening ceremonies taking place tomorrow, March 14, we thought we'd give you a recap of the guests we've had on this week talking about the park.
MONDAY MARCH 10 - Wayne Tedder from Blueprint 2000 joined Greg Angel to talk about Blueprint 2000 and how it was funded. Tedder also explained that Cascades is part two of a three part project in the downtown area.
TUESDAY MARCH 11 - Miaisha Mitchell, a former Smokey Hollow resident and Autumn Calder, a Blueprint 200 Senior Planner, spoke to us about The Smokey Hollow exhibit show casing the neighborhood that was formed in the late 1800s. The commemoration on Friday takes place on the north end of the park near the "Spirit Houses," buildings reconstructed to give the community an idea of what the neighborhood was in its former glory.
WEDNESDAY MARCH 12 - Charla Lucas and Lauren Pace talked about Cascades Park including where they can find out about upcoming events at the new amphitheatre and how community members can book space for their own events.
THURSDAY MARCH 13 - Cecilia Homison and Betsy Couch joined Greg talk about Discovery, an aspect of Cascades Park made of all-natural materials for children and families.
FRIDAY MARCH 14 - The owners of the upcoming Edison Restaurant which will be moving into the old electric building south of Cascades Park.
For our final Cascades Park Interview, Commissioners Gil Ziffer and Kristin Dozier joined host Greg Angel to talk about today's grand opening event at 10am and 5pm.
