Sunday Night Fire Destroys Tallahassee Home

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Authorities are investigating a Sunday night fire that destroyed a residential building in Tallahassee.

According to the Tallahassee Fire Department, firefighters were called out to the 1400 block of Calloway Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

When firefighters arrived, they say there was heavy smoke and flames in the building. Crews were able to put out the blaze in about 30 minutes.

There were no reported injuries and no one was home at the time of the fire. Officials say though that the single family home has been ruled a total loss.

The four residents displaced by the fire are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The fire is currently being investigated by TFD, the Florida State Fire Marshall's Office and the Tallahassee Police Department.
