TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A suicide prevention summit was held Wednesday in Tallahassee.
Hosted by several health organizations, the summit provided participants an opportunity to share resources and leadership around prevention and recovery.
The event was held at the Florida Department of Children and Families. Organizers say the summit is meant to bring together community advocates, state agencies staff, and health experts to discuss this all too common problem.
The summit was originally supposed to be held back in September, in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, but it had to be rescheduled because of Hurricane Irma.
