TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Star Metro and Second Harvest of the Big Bend collected an entire bus load of donations for the Tallahassee community.

Together they hosted a month-long campaign for all of February in an effort to exceed last year's collection amount. As an incentive, Star Metro offered free bus passes to riders who donated.

Second Harvest also created more than 60 donation locations around the city.

With one in five adults suffering from hunger, these early spring contributions are extremely important to keep those in need fed after the winter holiday season.

The stuffed Star Metro Bus is 40 feet long, and all the food in it weighed in at a whopping 3,777 pounds. They exceeded last year's haul by nearly a ton.
