Students Mourn Loss of Ft. Braden Assistant Principal

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Students and faculty are mourning the loss of a Leon County school Assistant Principal.

Dr. Patricia Rouse was the Assistant Principal at Ft. Braden School. LCS officials say she passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening at the age of 45.

Dr. Rouse was the Assistant Principal at the school for five years; she was described as "thoughtful and caring to everyone she came in contact with" by LCS officials.

Principle Jimbo Jackson released a note to community members that can be read below.

Dear Fort Braden Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you our assistant principal, Dr. Patricia Rouse, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of November 3, 2015. Dr. Rouse was a beloved staff member and colleague to many in Leon County Schools. She was a role model and outstanding mentor to many students and families in the Fort Braden School community . She will be greatly missed by all. Details are unclear at this time. We will keep you informed.

Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers at this time. We have shared this with our students in a developmentally appropriate way. Grief counselors will be available on campus as long as is needed.
