VALDOSTA, GA. (WTXL) - Two middle school students in Valdosta may face serious consequences, after officials say they were caught with a gun.
According to the Valdosta Police Department, a teacher at JL Newbern Middle School noticed one of the students in possession of a magazine clip.
The student along with another 13 year old was escorted to the principal's office and after a search of the student's book bag, the principal found a 9 millimeter pistol that matched the magazine clip.
A investigation found that the students found the gun off campus and there was no evidence they planned to use the firearm to assault anyone at school. The pair is being charged with possession firearm on school property.
