COOK COUNTY, GA (WTXL) -- A 17-year-old was arrested after he brought a loaded .22 pistol to the cafeteria Wednesday morning, according to school officials.
In a statement on its website, the district said that it received a tip from the boy's grandmother saying that the teen may have brought a gun to school because he was upset with his girlfriend.
When the teen was confronted by officers at the school he ran to the parking lot, the school said in a statement. Officers were able to catch him and arrest him without any further incident.
Officers found the gun in a small draw string bag.
