TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Human trafficking is a form of modern day slavery that is often overlooked.

Wednesday is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, so Freedom at FSU helped spread awareness on campus.

This is an anti-human trafficking organization dedicated to spreading awareness and advocating for the rights of victims.

Members were passing out flyers and speaking with other students about the importance of getting involved.

"Our intentions are more of like we know that what we're doing is making a difference. I think that's all that matters," said Paula Moreno, the president of Freedom at FSU. "Even if it's small, if it's just one person. We are making a difference. I think, at least for me, that's important.

The work done by Freedom at FSU has helped save others from being trafficked.
