PEMBROKE PINES, FL (WSVN/CNN) - Video captured a south Florida student "busting a move" in a classroom. The professor makes the kids dance as a punishment for tardiness.

Brandon Goderich had to dance for all the wrong reasons. It's an unusual policy inside Professor Jonathan Lowndes' class at the Keiser University campus.

Students can't say they weren't warned. It isn't expressly written in the American Literature class' syllabus, but they are given a verbal warning.

"You either tell a joke that's good, bring food for the class or dance," Goderich said.

He said he knew he would be late, so he came prepared.

"I had my old iPod and Bluetooth speaker because I'm like, 'I know he's going to play with me so I'm going along with it,'" he said.

Lowndes doesn't judge the students on their dance skills or lack thereof, but not playing along will lower their participation grade.

This was Goderich's second attempt to impress his teacher with his dance moves. The difference this time is the recording of it has gone viral, garnering more than 9 million views in less than two days.

"I didn't know that I had my classmate film me and then I didn't even know about Twitter too because I didn't even have an account," he said.

He said he doesn't plan on being late again but is willing to consider it if it means he can meet Ellen DeGeneres.

"I do want to meet Ellen and so does my sister, so I'm like, 'Hey, let's have this conversation and get something to happen.," Goderich said.

Most of the feedback has been positive on social media, but he hasn't yet gotten any invitation to be on "The Ellen Show."
