Tallahassee, FL (WTXL) - Leon County Deputies now believe the stray bullet that hit a school bus at Killearn Lakes Elementary School came from two people who were target shooting about a mile from the school.
According to deputies, detectives found two people target shooting in a wooded area. The sheriff's office discovered the bullets being used by the two were consistent with the stray bullet found on the bus.
Detectives also found evidence of ricochets near the targets.
The sheriff's office says no arrests have been made.
According to the Leon County Sheriff's Office, at around 2:50 p.m., as the school bus was loading children, one student heard a window crack and told the bus driver. The driver saw the window was broken and evacuated the bus, deputies said. They also said they recovered a bullet from the bus after it was evacuated.
Leon County Schools posted to Twitter at approximately 4 p.m. saying no one was injured.
