(WTXL) - It seems we dodged a spike in gas prices.

Earlier this week, there was concern about a possible gas price hike from Tropical Storm Gordon.

Wednesday night, Triple A reports that Gulf Coast refinery operations were not impacted by the storm.

Also good news? The price of gas may soon go down.

Triple A says prices usually drop in the fall as demand dips and refiners switch to a cheaper-to-produce winter-blend fuel.

In Florida, gas Wednesday, gas averaged $2.79 a gallon.
