TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Foundation for Leon County Schools and Tallahassee Memorial is hosting an event to raise awareness about type 2 diabetes.
The Stomp Out Type 2 Diabetes event will be held at Tom Brown Park on Saturday Febrauary 23. It will be from 9-11 a.m.
Nearly one third of students are at risk for type 2 diabetes. Those attending the Stomp Out will learn ways to prevent it. The community event includes the popular Leon County Schools staff kick-ball tournament, a soccer tournament, bike competitions, sand volleyball, tennis, a fishing derby, and much more. In additional to the sporting events, visitors can learn Zumba from founder Beto Perez and receive free health screenings from TMH.
Those who attend are encouraged to check in at the Registration tent next to the softball fields.
