MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Jacksonville man and teenager are facing multiple charges after fleeing the scene of a crash and stealing a car.
Trayvon Johnson, 20, and a 17-year-old was arrested by Madison County Sheriff's Office on May 17.
Around 5:20 a.m. on Thursday, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run accident in Madison County.
FHP says Johnson and his 17-year-old passenger were traveling eastbound on I-10, when Johnson stopped in the road and tried to make a left turn at a paved median crossing.
FHP says another vehicle was traveling eastbound on I-10 and hit the stolen vehicle.
Johnson and the 17-year-old passenger fled the scene on foot but were caught one mile from the scene by the MCSO.
The vehicle driven by Johnson was reported stolen by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Johnson is being charged with unlawful median crossing, driving without a license, leaving the scene of a crash, failing to report crash, and grand theft of motor vehicle.
The 17-year-old is being charged with larceny and failure to report a crash.
FHP says no one was injured in the accident.
