TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - "Step Afrika" is getting ready to perform live at Lee Hall Auditorium at Florida A&M University.
It all gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
Founded in 1994 as the first professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping, "Step Afrika" ranks as one of the top ten African-American dance companies in the United States.
Organizers say the company blends the historical percussive dance styles of African-American fraternities and sororities, African traditional dance, and influences from a variety of other dance and art forms.
They say the blend makes each performance unique and leaves the audience's hearts pounding.
