FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Florida lawmakers held a meeting this week to discuss specifics of how to implement the Affordable Care Act in the state.

Florida must decide whether to expand its Medicaid rolls to offer health coverage to more low-income families.

The state is also deciding whether to allow the feds to run an online health exchange or whether to partner with them.

A House committee did not make any decisions Monday and is still gathering information. Leaders noted they have very limited information on many issues, including exactly how the feds plan to run the exchange and what steps should be taken if lawmakers change their might and want to partner further down the road.

A Senate committee planned to meet with representatives from Florida businesses to discuss impacts facing private sector employers.
