MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Police say a 36-year-old man spent weeks in a Miami Beach hotel, running up a $174,000 bill that he apparently charged to a Sony Entertainment Corporate account.

James Peter Sabatino was ordered to be held on an out-of-county warrant during a bond hearing on Tuesday following his arrest Saturday on first-degree grand theft and organized scheme to defraud charges.

Miami's NBC6 reports Sabatino checked into the Hilton Miami Beach on Aug. 22. He reserved five rooms for himself and guests and told the hotel to charge it to his Sony corporate account.

When he checked out on Sept. 27, he had racked up a large unpaid balance that included more than $100,000 worth of champagne.

Prosecutors say hotel workers called Sony and discovered Sabatino didn't work there.
