TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Saturday, the Lincoln Trojan baseball team won the Class 8A State Championship, beating Hagerty 5-1. On Monday, the Trojans stopped by WTXL to celebrate the State Championship, the first public high school in Leon County to win a State Championship since 2001.
Godby was the last.
Lincoln was state runner-up in 2003, and the last Leon County School to win was North Florida Christian in 2014.
Zach Taylor got the win in the Championship game, pitching seven innings, allowing just four hits, while striking out six.
