Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)-- The "Starting is Believing" campaign, run by the state government, kicked off its open enrollment period today. The program is aimed at helping Florida families by providing affordable prepaid college plans.
The plans allow families to choose from 5 options guaranteed by the state of Florida to help their children attend state colleges by paying in advance for their education.
The new prices include up to 50% lower plan prices, a new 1 year university offering, and waived application fees through December 31st.
This is the plans first significant reduction in its history. The program's leaders say it will help control the costs of state universities in Florida for the future.
