CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) - St. Patrick's Day may be marked on the calendar as March 17th, but the festivities continued Saturday in Wakulla County.
An eclectic parade made its way down the streets of downtown Crawfordville Saturday morning, followed by a festival with Irish folk performances and food and shopping vendors.
The St. Patrick's Day celebration is hosted by the Crawfordville Lions Club, but its more than just a celebration of the Emerald Isle and Celtic culture; it's an opportunity to raise money for a good cause.
Proceeds from the festival are donated to the community to help citizens with medical needs and to Canine Companions for Independence to support puppy raising programs. The puppies go on to become assistance dogs for people with disabilities.
