Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL) - The St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge hosts the 11th Annual WHO Festival Feb. 4th.
WHO festival creators hope to connect people with nature. The event encourages outdoor activity for children and families and features a variety of events from fly fishing and archery to bird-watching, hiking and outdoor photography.
The Hot Tamale's acoustic guitar duo will also provide tunes for this weekend to-do.
In addition to entertainment, the WHO festival emphasizes the importance of developing more healthy lifestyles.
Sedentary habits contribute to Florida's rising obesity rates.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, only 50.2% of adults and 25.3% of adolescents achieved recommended physical activity weekly goals. Doctors recommend that children play outdoors as much as possible.
Patrons are welcomed to the event from 11am - 4pm with standard park entry fees. No pets allowed. Call 850-925-6121 for additional information.
