TALLAHASSEE, FL -- We are just days away from Thanksgiving 2016 which means coming up is the 41st Annual Turkey Trot. It's a chance to get fit before chowing down on all that Thanksgiving food.
The Turkey Trot which features 15k, 10k, 5k and one mile fun run distances, will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016 in the Southwood community. This is the forty first year that the race has been held, and the twenty fifth year that it has taken place on the holiday. Turkey Trots are some of the most popular racing events in our country and Tallahassee is no exception. This event attracts more than 5000 runners and walkers each holiday season. The Turkey Trot Festival will take place on Sunday, Nov. 20 beginning at 1:30 p.m and ending at 5 p.m. The event will feature live music, food, drinks and vendors along with packet pick up for Turkey Trot runners. For quite a number of years now, GWTC and the Tallahassee Turkey Trot have provided support to the Boys and Girls Clubs, The Refuge House and The Shelter.
