TIFTON, Ga. (WTXL) - The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is asking drivers to take note that speed limits have dropped in the state route 133 construction zones in both Brooks and Colquitt Counties.
According to GDOT, the speed limit is now 45 mph in Brooks County from Troupeville Road to Pauline Church Road, and 35 mph in Colquitt County from Hawthorne Road to SR 35/East Moultrie Bypass.
Nine GDOT projects are planned to improve SR 133 between Albany and Valdosta. Those include widening SR 133 to four lanes with turn lanes and adding medians. GDOT says the cost of the constructions projects in Brooks and Colquitt counties alone is more than $37,000,000. Both are scheduled to be complete in the summer of 2016.
