ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Floridians will have a chance to do a version of the polar plunge next month during a statewide charity fundraising event.

Florida Professional Firefighters is the presenting sponsor for Special Olympics Florida's Polar Plunge at SeaWorld Aquatica waterpark Feb. 7. During the event, individuals and teams, along with Special Olympics athletes will raise money for the privilege of plunging themselves into a chilled down version of the park's wave pool.

There is no cost for to attend, but participants in the plunge are being asked to raise a minimum of $100. That donation grants park admission, an event T-shirt and two passes for spectators.
