TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Special Olympics Florida of Leon County hosted their Area 3 Summer Games event.
The sports included soccer, tennis, track and field and cycling. The event was held at Lincoln High School.
"It's one of my favorite events of the year," said Superintendent Jackie Pons, "because you get a chance to see our children being successful. We're giving away ribbons for the winners. So many teachers out here, community members supporting this, volunteers. It's competition, but it's good competition, and it's fun competition, and everybody today is a winner."
The event also offered free health screenings for all athletes in attendance.
