TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee's Southwood community is looking into adding another pool for residents, though a new option comes at a high cost.
It's just another option for the community development district to consider.
The "Southwood Homeowner Association" received donated land from developers to build the pool. Last month, WTXL told you about plans for a proposed park there.
The new land is in an entirely different part of Southwood and putting a pool there would require a bit more work.
The Homeowners' Association has received a three-acre parcel off Orange and Biltmore Avenues. The chairman of the CDD says infrastructure would need to be built around it. The price tag? $175,000.
The current plan is to look at property across from Florida State University schools. That plan calls for a park, recreation areas and a pool.
The issue there has been how that project will be paid for.
WTXL talked to the CDD chairman over the phone Wednesday. He said the board will see if it's "financially feasible" to build the pool at the new parcel.
If that's the case, then they won't put a third pool at the proposed park site.
