TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A group with a mission to help the city's Southside is meeting.

We first told you about the Southside United Citizens Action Alliance in June.

The group has been meeting every month to go over the needs of that community and how to meet those needs.

For the past two months, they've been coming up with different ideas and tonight, they're going to sit down and flesh out where the Southside needs help, the sit down happening Thursday at the Walker-Ford Community Center.

Here's a look at the group's first meeting in June. So far, around 75 residents have turned out for these meetings, talking about key issues that affect the Southside.

We're talking about education, economic development, and mixed housing.

Earlier today, we caught up with one of the group's organizers. She said they're one of many organizations that want the Southside to flourish.

"We want to unite the citizens, and we want to work with all groups. We don't want to take away from anybody, because it's going to take all of us. So, we just want to make sure that we pour it all in there," said Dianne Williams-Cox with the alliance. "It's like Ragu. It's in there, and we want to make sure that we get it all in there."

Tonight's meeting should last for an hour, maybe two. So, there's still time to get out here. The group has met in different parts of the Southside every month.
