TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Southern Scholarship Foundation is celebrating its 60th anniversary today by kicking off a donation campaign.
The foundation awards scholarships to college students who display financial need by allowing them to live in one of 27 different houses on Florida college campuses statewide at no cost.
To mark the foundations' six decades of success, this morning the board announced a fundraising initiative aiming to generate $150,000 dollars in donations in 60 days.
458 students currently have a place to live, thanks to the program.
