VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--South Georgia Medical Center is working to fight cervical cancer by offering free screenings.
The screenings start January 15 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Pearlman Cancer Center for women 21-65 years of age who have not had a pap smear in the last three years.
It's also for those who have not had a hysterectomy.
SGMC says in the United States last year, 12,000 new cases of invasive cervical cancer were diagnosed.
