LOWNDES COUNTY, GA. (WTXL) - A South Georgia pair is arrested after a car chase and canine pursuit in Lowndes County.
According to the Lowndes County Sheriff's office, deputies were called to the 1400 Block of St Augustine Road Wednesday afternoon, where they found Roderick Davis and Erika Bennett sitting inside a car. Deputies say, when they tried to talk to the duo, Davis placed the car in drive and sped away. After a chase deputies lost them on Highway 133 in Brooks County. A short time later, a resident along Highway 133 reported a suspicious vehicle that was abandoned in their backyard. A canine was able to track the two down in a field near Val Tech Road.
The two are charged with obstruction of an officer and criminal trespassing. Lowndes County Deputies say, Davis and Bennett are wanted by other law enforcement agencies.
