South GA triple-murder suspect pleads guilty

Posted

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A murder suspect has pled guilty to three murders that occurred in Lowndes and Brooks Counties in 2014, and will never get out of prison.

District Attorney Bradfield Shealy announced Wednesday that Anthony Ceasar, 37, pleaded guilty to the August 22, 2014 shooting of Kenneth Johnson at Applebee's on Inner Perimeter Road.

Ceasar had been staying with Johnson for a period of time when the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office searched their residence, leading to the discovery of drugs. Both Johnson and Ceasar were charged in federal court for the drugs.

Several months later, Ceasar learned that Johnson was going to claim that the drugs were not his, but belonged to Ceasar.

Ceasar waited outside of Applebee's and fatally shot Johnson with a .40 caliber handgun.

Prior to that shooting, Ceasar had been in a relationship with Anisa Mobley who, along with her brother Wilbur Mobley, were employed as prison guards at Valdosta State Prison.

When Mobley broke off her relationship with Ceasar, and because he believed that Mobley had set him up, he went to her home in the 100 block of Azalea Avenue in Morven September 3, 2014.

He was aware of her work schedule as a result of their prior relationship. At approximately 5:30 a.m. he fatally shot both Anisa Mobley and Wilbur Mobley as they were leaving for work.

Ceasar is currently serving 17 years in federal prison for the initial drug charges.

He was sentenced Wednesday by Judge James E. Hardy to three consecutive life sentences, to be served consecutively to the 17 years.
