BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL)--The chief judge of the South Georgia Judicial Circuit has decided not run for re-election.
Judge Wallace Cato made the announcement in a letter to citizens last week.
He says once he's completed this term, he will have served as superior judge of the circuit for 38 years and seven months.
Previously, he served eight and a half years as district attorney for the circuit.
In the letter, he says it's been an honor to serve the citizens in both capacities.
