TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The City of Tallahassee is asking you what they should be spending your hard-earned tax payer dollars on.

The survey was released on May 23, and is scheduled to close today.

The survey prompts you to weigh in on which things are the most important to spend taxpayer dollars on. It asks you to choose from the following categories:

  • Police and public safety
  • Affordable housing
  • Cultural and special events
  • Public transportation and StarMetro
  • Sidewalk, bike, and pedestrian improvements
  • Roadway maintenance and replacement
  • Parks and recreation programs and facilities

The survey also asks you to rate the City of Tallahassee's communication methods and how well they listen to public input.

Citizen feedback, including input from the survey, will be used in the Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18) budget planning process. As part of the process, regular budget updates are being presented to the City Commission and community.

The next budget updates will be provided on June 14, July 19, September 13 and September 27. Information is always available through OpenGov and the City’s online budget, both accessible through Talgov.com.
