Sopchoppy resident dies after crashing a car into a utility pole

SOPCHOPPY, Fla. (WTXL)-- A Sopchoppy resident is dead after crashing a car in Wakulla County.

It happened around 7:00 Sunday morning. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say 52-year-old Cheryl Jean Long was driving on U.S. 319 just north of Curtis Mill Road, veered off the road and hit a utility pole. The car turned over on its side. Long was pronounced dead at the scene.
