Sopchoppy Council Member Arrested for DUI

WAKULLA COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - A Sopchoppy Council Member is arrested over the holiday weekend for driving under the influence.

The incident happened Saturday on Towels Road. According to The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office Becton Roddenberry was pulled over for a traffic stop after making abrupt turns. When the officer asked the 32-year-old for his license he refused to comply. When he was asked to exit his car, he again refused. The officer says, Roddenberry smelled of alcohol and seemed to be disoriented. According to the arrest report, Roddenberry refused a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI and resisting an officer without violence.

WTXL News reached out to town officials for comment but didn't hear back.

Roddenberry is also an instructor for the CNA Program at the Wakulla Adult Education Center.
