TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Somo Playhouse celebrated Black History Month with a weekend full of live readings of plays, songs and poems from black authors.
The weekend ended with a live reading of Blues for Mr. Charile by James Baldwin.
The play is about the death of Emmett Till, a 14-year-old African American killed in the south in 1955.
His killers were not convicted.
Directors say the story has important messages about black history for today's society
Somo plans to do more plays and readings like this in the future.
