EASTPOINT, Fla. (WTXL) - Families in Eastpoint are working hard to rebuild their lives after the Limerock Wildfire left almost 40 families homeless and even more with damaged homes.

WTXL's Jada Williams was live Monday morning with details about what the county is doing to help those families.

For many families, temporary housing units are being installed today.

Those housing units are going on the property of the victims, giving them a slightly more longterm and private place to stay while they await the next steps to return to normal.

Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith says most of the families who lost their homes are staying with family and neighbors.

Many hotels in the area are offering discounts and local churches opened as temporary shelters. The county received 24 surplus travel trailers last week.

Stay with WTXL for the latest in recovery efforts for the Eastpoint families.
