TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A U.S. soldier indicted on multiple counts related to aggravated child pornography, promoting sexual performance by a child, and extortion has been sentenced.

Joshua Woodyard, 25, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday.

This comes after the former Tallahassee resident plead no contest to 16 counts of possession of aggravated child pornography, three counts of promoting sexual performance by a child, three counts of unlawful use of computer service, nine counts of child abuse, three counts of extortion, and 10 counts of video voyeurism.

Back in 2013, Woodyard was arrested after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement received a complaint from the principal of Community Christian School indicating that several juvenile girls alleged that he was attempting to threaten them into sending him nude pictures.

When authorities searched his computer, they found numerous files containing child pornography and communication between Woodyard and several minors.

Woodyard was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.
