COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Social Security recipients will see a little extra in their checks this coming year.
In 2019, Social Security benefits will rise 2.8 percent due to a cost-of-living adjustment announced last fall.
For the average retired worker, this will mean about $39 more each month or $468 more per year.
This change marks the biggest rise in benefits in the last 7 years.
