SNEADS, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested after he got physical in an argument with his wife and fired gunshots at both his wife and daughter.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said that they received a 911 call on Wednesday from a woman about a physical altercation with shots fired at a home on Donald Drive.
When deputies and the woman met up, she told them that she and her husband, Boyd Holmes, had gotten into an argument, which then turned physical.
She told them that during the altercation, he attempted to strangle her, threw her to the floor, and stepped on her neck. The victims' daughter heard the fight and ran to her mother.
In the process, Holmes grabbed his daughter, who was 10 weeks pregnant at the time and threw her to the floor.
The victim continued to say that both her and her daughter were able to escape the home but at that point, Holmes had grabbed a handgun from the home and started shooting at them.
Both of them took cover using their parked cars as Holmes continued firing the handgun until it was empty. He then went back inside the home and got a shotgun and fired three more shots.
The victim told police that her and her daughter were able to run away and meet a family member who drove them to meet with deputies.
After talking to the victims, officers went to the home to find Holmes. When they got there, they saw that he had left the home in his car and was suspected to have gone to his brother's house on Falcon Road.
When they got to his brother's house, they found Holmes and arrested him.
57-Year-Old Holmes is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery on a pregnant female, and felony battery by strangulation.
He was transported to the Jackson County Correction Facility.
