Tallahassee, Fl (WTXL) - FAMU held a welcome rally today for their newest leader. President Elmira Mangum was introduced to the university in front of Lee Hall on FAMU's Campus with spirited tributes by student leaders, the marching 100, and FAMU cheerleaders.
Mangum will become FAMU's 11th President and first female permanent president in the school's 126 year history. She previously served as vice president of planning and budget at Cornell University. The FAMU board of Trustees selected Mangum as the new president on January 9th.
