TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The third annual Sleep Out for Homeless Youth returned to the Capital City.
The goal of the event is to raise awareness to the youth homelessness issue within the community.
Organizers say this past year 866 students experienced homelessness in Leon County during the school year and nearly 2,000 total youth were reported as homeless across the Big Bend.
Participants are provided with a box to sleep in and security while on the Capital City Youth Services main campus.
