TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Some senior citizens are honored for their dedication to others in their golden years.
The 17th annual "Silver Stars Gala" was held Thursday night at the FSU University Center.
The event awards select senior citizens who have had a positive outlook, active lifestyle and dedication to others since they turned 60.
Some of this year's "Silver Stars" are Tennie Jackson, Dr. Charles Nam, "Andy" McMullian, Eddie Randolph and Rev. Doctor Henry Steele.
Dr. Steele's daughter, Dr. Angela Steele, says she's proud of her father's commitment to volunteering in the community and furthering her father's push for civil rights.
