TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (#WTXLDigital) - Losing your job to a robot or some other form of artificial intelligence (AI) may not be on your list of things to bite your nails about. But, should it be?

The average worker isn't the only one being asked that question. The Pew Research Center recently asked technology experts if they think that new advancements could displace more jobs than it will create by 2025, and the answers were split right down the middle.

Half of the experts (48%) felt that robots and AI's could displace a wide variety of workers leading to, "unemployment and breakdowns in the social order". Some of the experts even think that the displacement of workers by technology is already happening.

The other half (52%) do not think there is anything to worry about... at least not by 2025.

While most did agree that robots and artificial intelligence are going to make huge advances in the next decade, they're split on what it will do to your job. However, just because they think technology WILL impact your job, it doesn't mean they agree on HOW it will impact your job.

So what does this mean for the work force? It's safe to assume that new technology is going to influence you and your work in some way. This may not mean you will be out of work because of robots, but it may not be a bad idea to learn a new tech trick if the opportunity presents itself.

Even while writing this story for WTXL, spell check on two different pieces of software let us forgo the second 'I' in "intelligence". Twice. This may not have caused missiles to fly, but it is the perfect example of how technology can be as infallible as we are and what we have to think about as artificial intelligence moves forward in every day lives.

Are you worried about how technology is going to affect your job?
