TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- A car theft leads to shots fired at a police officer in the Capital City Saturday.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, it all started just after 9:00 p.m. when a white Mercedes C300 was stolen from the Circle K on West Pensacola Street. The owner was inside of the gas station at the time.

Officers searched for the stolen vehicle, and about an hour later found a Mercedes matching its description on Holton Street near the Kayzer Villas Apartments.

When an officer attempted to stop the car, the driver sped away, firing a gun.

No one was injured in the incident, and hours later the vehicle was found abandoned near Bourbourville Drive and South Adams Street.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
