OCALA, Fla. (AP) - North Florida authorities are investigating a 2-year-old girl's death after the medical examiner ruled it a homicide.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office released a statement Tuesday saying Journee Blyden had suffered head trauma before deputies were dispatched to her Ocala home June 21.

Journee was hospitalized and was pronounced dead Friday. Witnesses told investigators that Journee fell from her crib, but the medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.

The Ocala Star-Banner (http://bit.ly/29cMCqz ) reports no additional details about the toddler's death have been released. No arrests have been made.

The newspaper reports another toddler's death linked to Journee's family. Her father has been imprisoned since October 2014 on murder and aggravated child abuse charges in the death of his girlfriend's 1-year-old son.
