MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - An investigation is underway in Florida following a shooting involving a sheriff's deputy near St. Petersburg.
In a news release, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened just after 3 a.m. Wednesday in Madeira Beach.
Tampa Bay area television stations are reporting that the shooting happened during a traffic stop.
No further details were immediately available.
An investigation is continuing.
