AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (AP) — Officials say a man drowned off Amelia Island.
Sheriff Bill Leeper told The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1w5pTgw ) that the man was pulled from the surf just south of The Ritz-Carlton hotel about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The man's identity hasn't been released.
No further details were immediately available.
